LINKS: NETWORKING WITH MY FRIENDS
I am borrowing an idea from a friend (you know who you are!) and including LINKS for people I know personally, and businesses and organizations that I have dealt with. Thanks to networking I have been cast in several roles, heard about some valuable learning opportunities, seen wonderful productions, and made new friends.  In that spirit I am listing below links that you might find of interest.

The Brooklyn Training Ground
I have studied with Roger Manix for several years. I first met him when he taught a 10-week workshop on the Meisner Technique at Wiest-Barron Studios. When he started teaching advanced scene study classes in NYC, I immediately signed on, and when I was cast in The Seagull in the role of Arkadina, I asked him to tutor me privately. In the Spring of 2013 Roger founded The Brooklyn Training Ground, which has been a dream of his for many years. I am currently enroled in the two-year program which is dedicated to the work of Sanford Meisner. I cannot recommend Roger and his acting center highly enough.

The 4th Wall Actors Workshop
I participated in this workshop twice - Fall 2006 and Fall 2007. It was an invaluable 10-week learning experience which culminated in performances at The Producer's Club. I highly recommend this workshop.

Marie Papp
I met Marie at one of Roger's Sound Healing Meditations. Marie is a very talented photographer, specializing in wedding and children's portraits. She also does head shots and publicity photos. If you go to her website you can see a sample of her work. Marie doesn't do what I call "cookie-cutter" photos - she captures people's personalities, and she captures special moments. She is also a sweetheart to work with - energetic and fun.

Mary Jo Rhodes
I met Mary Jo in my gym where she trains with my friend and personal trainer, Roger Ansanelli. Unlike me, she is soft-spoken and reserved, so it took me awhile to learn what an interesting and funny woman she is! She has a life-long interest and respect for sea-life, so a few years ago she wrote a 10-book series for children called Undersea Encounters, details of which you can read about on her website. In the Summer of 2009 Mary Jo, along with her friend Susan Newman, launched a new website to bring attention to the environmental threats to frogs, and therefore to the entire ecosystem.  Mary Jo also written a fiction book which is in the editing process.

Nancy Colasurdo
Nancy is a writer, columnist, Life Coach, and one very smart and funny woman. I first met her at a West Village Discussion Group I attended several years ago at Cafe Dante in NYC. When we bumped into each other in a local Hoboken coffee shop I got to talking (easy for me to do), and I shared some of my experiences since moving here in 2003.  Nancy, who at that time wrote a twice-weekly life-coaching column for foxbusiness.com, asked if she could write a column based on our convesation, so I said "sure. " Heck - I've never had an article written about me before! Please check out Nancy's website at http://www.nancola.com/. You will find links to her Facebook Page and her new blog Unfettered50.

Puppetonia

Do you have pre-school children? My friends Cornel and Carmen Rusu of Hoboken, plus their staff of talented puppeteers, put on wonderful puppet shows for pre-schoolers. They also does birthday parties.

Roger Ansanelli

Singer, actor, sound healer....... Roger is a man of many interests and talents. I met him in his capacity as Head Trainer at my Hoboken gym. Roger holds weekly Sound Healing Meditations at his Hoboken office, teaches seminars at various locations in Manhattan, and he sometimes perfoms in concert. Roger also conducts one-on-one energy (healing) sessions at his office. Check out his website for additional information. Oh yes, and tell him I sent you!

Symposia
Symposia, based in Hoboken, offers many different community-building events such as discussion groups, poetry readings, and a guitar circle, to name a few.  If you love books, you might also like to stop by the Symposia Book Store on Washington Street in Hoboken.
